A WARRINGTON high school has announced its intention to extend one of its teaching buildings.

Plans have been submitted to Warrington Borough Council’s planning department by St Gregory's RC High School.

The Cromwell Avenue is wanting a single storey extension for the benefit of its autism spectrum disorder unit.

The materials would match existing to be in-keeping with the rest of the building, with new windows to allow natural light and ventilation.

Documents submitted as part of the application state: “The single storey infill extension is to extend the school's autism spectrum disorder unit.

“The area for extension is currently unused by the school. It is currently fenced off with a wooden gate for access.

“Extension to the existing school will allow for greater space for students with autism spectrum disorder.”

The plans are with the council and will be decided on in due course.
