A POPULAR Warrington pub has announced its sad closure.

The Rams Head Inn, in Grappenhall, has confirmed it has closed its doors for the last time.

A post on the pub’s social media page confirmed the sad news this afternoon, Tuesday.

Located on the cobbled Church Lane, the pub has attracted great reviews from locals in its three years open.

However, a spokesperson for the Rams Head Inn said: “We write this with great sadness, but wanted to inform you all that we have closed our doors here at The Rams Head Inn for the last time.

“An incredibly difficult decision to make. Several factors have led to this, some out of our control.

“We've had an amazing three and a half years with you here in the village and we thank you all for your support.

“A huge thanks goes out to each and every one of the team who have gone above and beyond serving you all.”

Meanwhile residents have took to the post to express their ‘sadness’ at the news, with one commenter saying: “Absolutely gutted one of my favourite places.”

While another added: “This is so sad, the whole hospitality industry is on its knees. Their costs way too high to maintain. I am very sad to see you go, loved the welcoming hospitality.”

One resident described the pub as ‘a staple in the village’, adding ‘you will be missed’.
