A MAN has been charged after being found in possession of cocaine and heroin nearby to a parish church in Howley.

Cheshire Police confirmed plain clothes officers on patrol in the area at 2.40pm stopped a 55-year-old man on St Elphin’s Close today, Wednesday.

The individual, Christian Foster, was arrested on suspicion of drug offences and was charged with two counts of possession with intent to supply class A drugs, namely cocaine and heroin.

Foster, of Farrell Street, Fairfield & Howley, has been remanded in custody and will appear before Chester Magistrates Court on Friday, March 28.

A spokesperson from Cheshire Police said: “At 2.40pm on Wednesday 26 March, plain clothed officers on patrol in Howley stopped a man on St Elphin's Close.

“The 55-year-old local man was subsequently arrested on suspicion of drugs offences.

“Christian Foster has since been charged with two counts of possession with intent to supply Class A drugs (cocaine and heroin).

“Foster, of Farrell Street, Howley,  has been remanded in custody and is set to appear at Chester Magistrates Court on Friday 28 March.”
