A TRAFFORD Centre shop has made a ‘dream come true’ for a young girl with cerebral palsy after inviting her to showcase her handmade items in the store.
Aya Al-Chokhdar, 13, had the opportunity to be a part of Kenji’s ‘Makers Stall’ where she displayed her handmade hairclips and pins.
The Lymm High School student struggles with mobility due to her condition but is hoping to become an entrepreneur and grow her creativity through drawing and creating her handmade items.
“The impact of this experience on Aya’s wellbeing, confidence and overall happiness cannot be overstated,” said her dad, Yussur.
“We are immensely grateful for Kenji’s kindness and generosity, which have undoubtedly enriched Aya’s life in immeasurable ways.”
Kenji is an east-Asian inspired shop that sells Japanese sweets and toys, and it is one of Aya’s favourite shops.
Their ‘Makers Stall’ allows local creators to display their work in the shop for customers to see and buy.
“This opportunity has been nothing short of a dream come true for Aya,” said Yussur.
“The chance to showcase and sell her handmade items in her beloved store has ignited her spirit with unparalleled excitement and pride.”
The teenager hopes to become an entrepreneur and shares her achievements with her schoolmates at Lymm High School.
“We extend our heartfelt gratitude to Kenji for their unwavering support and for making this incredible opportunity accessible to all,” said Yussur.
