A RUGBY league club has given its backing to the campaign to held protect children in our society.

Rylands Sharks u16s have the Peace & Mind UK logo on their match day shirts and training kit to raise awareness of the campaign led by Esther Ghey.

Set up following the murder of daughter Brianna last year, it aims to raise money to deliver mindfulness training in schools.

Esther said: "I want to say a massive thank you to the coaches and team at Rylands Sharks Rugby Club for supporting our community interest company Peace & Mind UK.

"The kit looks fantastic and it’s great to see our logo printed on the front.

"The team have also given a generous donation to the CIC and we are very grateful. We are planning some community-based activities in Warrington to help improve mental health in young people and their families, so every donation means a lot to us."

A spokesman for the Sharks added: “Rugby League is as very much about the community around us, as the game itself. Rylands u16s have teamed up with Peace & Mind UK on their Match day/training kit to raise awareness of the amazing campaign and work Esther and the team put into helping deliver mindfulness into all schools along with getting better protection for children on smart phones.

"It's a cause that many of the team and coaches feel very strongly about, and we're proud to show our support, not only from the Under 16s squad, but from the club as a whole.”
