ARMED police were dispatched to Longford following reports of a suspected sighting of a gun.
Six people were arrested last Tuesday, March 19, Cheshire Police has confirmed in a statement released almost a week later, today, Monday.
Plain-clothed officers in an unmarked car on patrol reportedly saw a person in a car that they believed was in possession of a black handgun.
The car was located nearby on Poole Avenue, with a large police presence reported in the area.
Cheshire Police says six people were arrested ‘in relation to a number of offences’, with each released on conditional bail.
A force spokesman said: “Shortly after 1pm on Tuesday, March 19, police spotted two men in a vehicle in the Longford area of Warrington who appeared to be in possession of a weapon.
“Officers traced the vehicle to an address in Poole Avenue and subsequently attended the address, where they arrested six people in relation to a number of offences.
“All six people have since been released on bail.
“Enquiries are currently ongoing.”
