POWER cuts were experienced in one area of Warrington due to a technical fault.

Residents in the WA1 area of town around Woolston reported experiencing a black out electricity at approximately 9.25pm last night, Wednesday.

Scottish Power, who cover a large area of Warrington, confirmed the power cuts were due to a ‘fault’.

A number of properties were affected by the power cut which last from 9.25pm until 10.30pm when the power was reconnected.

An engineer from Scottish Power Network attended the site to find the route of the problem and was able to successfully reconnect at the homes within an hour.

An SP Energy Networks spokesperson said: “Last night a small number of customers in the Warrington area experienced a power cut at 9.25pm due to a fault.

“Our engineers attended the site and had everyone connected again by 10.30pm. We would like to apologise to our customers for any inconvenience caused.”

Postcodes affected included WA14BP, WA14BS, WA14DA, WA14DB, WA14HL, WA14HP, WA14HR.
