THE owners of Chester Road swing bridge are investigating after it became stuck again at the weekend.

On Saturday morning, the bridge was reported to be stuck open, causing ‘absolute chaos’ on nearby roads for those trying to drive both in and out of town.

It isn’t the first time it has become stuck, with the issue happening a number of times last year.

The Warrington Guardian contacted the owners of the bridge, Peel Ports Group, for a comment following the issue.

A spokesperson confirmed that the issue has not yet been identified.

They said: “The Chester Road swing bridge experienced a fault on February 24 and we’re working to identify and fix the issue.

“We apologise for any delays and hope to have the bridge fully operational as quickly as possible.”
