IT is remarkable to think but it is 20 years since the closure of the much-loved Warrington Baths.
This picture, abive, shows the inside of the main pool at the Legh Street venue.
It was taken in 2011 shortly before demolition began.
It had been closed since 2004 and the land is now home to a medical centre.
The foundation stone was laid in 1865 and they were opened in 1866.
For thousands of children in Warrington, this was where they learned to swim.
It was once home to a large complex of pools used for both teaching and competition.
The venue was also used as a dance hall and was the home to a water polo team.
Among the features of the main pool were the changing rooms alongside the side of the pool.
Warrington remains without a swimming pool in the town centre to this day.
