A NEW bar is bringing a ‘touch of Ireland’ to Warrington’s Cultural Quarter.
Doherty’s Irish Bar will be opening on Bold Street in just a few weeks.
It will be owned by Penketh resident Robert Doherty whose family are from Carndonagh in Donegal.
Robert has always wanted to open his own Irish bar.
He said: “There is a good list of great bars around town but I wanted to add something different that I love and grew up with.”
Live music including both traditional and contemporary Irish folk will be played at the venue which has plans to show live sport every day.
And a whole range of drinks will be on offer, including Guinness and Caffrey’s on draught as well as other lagers, ciders, Irish whiskeys, and Irish twists on classic cocktails.
Fresh homemade pies will also be available each day.
“We are hoping to bring a touch of Ireland to Warrington’s bustling Cultural Quarter,” Robert added.
The bar’s opening weekend will take place on March 1 and March 2 where live music will be taking place.
Plans for St Patrick’s Day are also in the works.
