POLICE have released an image of a man they wish to speak to in connection with a sexual assault on a train in Warrington.
Officers from British Transport Police investigating the report have now released an image of a man they believe could assist with their enquiries.
On Wednesday, January 3, at around 5pm, the victim was on a train between Warrington Central and Warrington West railway stations.
It was reported that a man had been staring at her when she boarded the train, and after she took a seat, he moved from his seat to the one next to her and sexually assaulted her.
She left the train at Warrington West and the man continued on the train until Liverpool Lime Street.
A spokesman for BTP said: “Officers believe the man in the CCTV image may have information which could help their investigation.
“If you recognise him or have any information, please contact BTP by texting 61016 or calling 0800 40 50 40, quoting reference 604 of 3 January.
“Alternatively, you can call Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.”
