POLICE have released a CCTV image of a woman they wish to speak to over an alleged theft and public disorder offence.

Cheshire Police says that staff at Asda at Cockhedge Centre reported being verbally abused following an attempted theft of toys.

Anyone who recognises the woman in the photo is urged to call the police.

The force’s Warrington Police team said: “Officers from the town centre beat team would like to speak to the lady in the picture, relating to alleged theft and public order offences at the town centre branch of Asda in early January.

“On Friday, January 5, it is alleged that the female pictured stole a large amount of toys, in excess of £250.

“She has allegedly refused to stop for staff and a member of the centre staff has had to follow her to the car park and get it back from her.

“The following day, it is alleged that she reattended Asda and verbally abused, using foul and abusive language, the same member of Asda loss prevention staff who had been on duty the previous day.

“If you can help, you can contact Cheshire Police on 101 and quote crime reference 24000030640 or call Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.”
