A NEW vintage bar specialising in craft beers has opened its doors in Warrington.

Priding itself on serving the ‘best of regional craft alcohol’, Peggy McCools has swapped its pop-up stall for a permanent spot on Erwood Street – just a stones throw away from the Halliwell Jones Stadium.

The bar, formerly home to an antiques dealership, will have up to six independent breweries featured on its brand-new pumps, with a wider selection, including IPAs, sours and goses in its fridges.

Not only that, but the venue will also be providing a platform for up-and-coming local bands and performers.

Having already welcomed Warrington’s brand-new indie night Club Mojopia through the doors, as well as the popular Wazza Punx band night.

Matt McGinty, founder of Peggy McCools, said: “We’re proud to have gone through this evolution to provide a brand-new venue for Warrington that combines craft beers and entertainment for a community that appreciates both.”

Vintage is the theme for the watering hole, with the décor, artwork and furniture all matching a retro aesthetic.

There is even vintage clothing available to purchase at the bar.

“We’re excited to bring new beers and flavour profiles from all over the region to our pumps and will be continuing to work with the great music promoters in town to provide a place for local musicians to be heard,” Matty added.

Peggy McCool is open every Thursday, Friday, Saturday and Sunday, from 1pm. A takeout service will also be available for cans and bottles.
