WARRINGTON and Halton Teaching Hospitals have apologised to patients affected by more than 400 appointment cancellations.
The most recent phase of junior doctors' strikes saw hundreds of appointments cancelled across the trust.
Figures from NHS England reveal that across the trust, 465 appointments were cancelled as a result of the strike action.
Warrington and Halton Teaching Hospitals confirmed to the Warrington Guardian how many appointments were cancelled on each affected day:
- January 3 - 91
- January 4 - 114
- January 5 - 113
- January 6 - 8
- January 7 - No cancellations
- January 8 - 94
- January 9 - 45
When quizzed about the cancellation statistics by the Warrington Guardian, a spokesperson for Warrington and Halton Teaching Hospitals said: “Unfortunately, we have had to reschedule 465 appointments during this period of industrial action.
"These will be rescheduled in line with clinical urgency and the length of time the patient has been waiting.
"We apologise to the patients and families affected.”
