APPROVAL has been granted to revamp of the existing beer garden of a popular pub.
An application had been submitted to Warrington Borough Council’s planning department for The Poacher in Gorse Covert – and this has now been approved.
Applicant Greene King was seeking permission to erect a new external timber pergola to the outside of the Gorse Covert Road venue.
It says that this is in a bid to continue the success of the business and boost customer’s experience eating and drinking in the beer garden.
Documents submitted as part of the application state: “This proposal aims to construct a new timber covered pergola as well as decorate the external garden area.
“The proposal aims to revamp the external beer garden and create a new covered external pergola for external seating, which aims to attract new customers to the venue.
“The proposed works are to enhance existing customer facilities and staff operation, in order to help facilitate the ongoing economic viability of this existing and well-established operation.”
The plans were nodded through by planning chiefs.
