THE temporary tips opened during the bin strikes will close this week.
Two waste drop-off points were opened by the council this month during time of crisis at a location in Orford and Victoria Park.
With skips being stationed at both points to relieve residents of their excess household waste.
The strikes were finally called off on Thursday, December 7 after an agreement was struck between Warrington Borough Council and Unite.
Bin collections began taking place the following day on December 8.
And from this Friday at 4pm the temporary tips will no longer be open for use.
A spokesperson for Warrington Borough Council said: “At their peak, the waste drop-off points were used significantly.
“However, following the restart of waste collection services on Friday 8 December, volumes of waste being taken to the drop-off points have reduced by almost 90 per cent.”
Despite these temporary drop-off points closing, extended hours for recycling centres will stay in place until Tuesday, January 2.
