A STOCKTON Heath care home welcomed the mayor to its recent festive event.

The Mayor of Warrington, Cllr Steve Wright, attended Summerville Care Home to open its annual Christmas Fair.

Brian Beddar, who is the site’s longest-staying resident having moved in back in September 2014, was the first to welcome the mayor and mayoress and he was ‘extremely proud’ to do so.

Warrington Guardian:

The fair boasted several stalls – ranging from cakes, delicious food, festive drinks, and retro items, as well as a tombola, games, and wellbeing products.

Father Christmas himself even made an appearance, with many children sharing their Christmas lists with him.

Entertainment was provided with care assistant Zube playing the piano while children and Father Christmas sang carols.

Vicki Costello, Summerville Care Home manager, said: “These pictures don't even come close to sharing how special the day felt, it was a real sense of warmth, family and festivity.”

The mayor added: “It was a pleasure to help commence the festive fun at Summerville.

“I enjoyed speaking with residents and staff to learn more about what life is like at the care home.”
