POLICE found a car abandoned after engaging in a high-speed pursuit through a residential area this afternoon, Tuesday.

Residents in Orford reported seeing a car ‘flying’ past them followed by police.

Pursuing officers lost sight of the car – a grey Seat Leon which they tried to stop on Neville Avenue – before finding it abandoned near to Moss Gate Park.

Enquiries are ongoing, and anyone with information is asked to call Cheshire Police.

A spokesman for the force said: “At around 1.30pm on Tuesday, December 5, police attempted to stop a grey Seat Leon on Neville Avenue, Warrington.

“The driver failed to stop and made off from the scene at speed.

“Officers pursued the vehicle as it travelled through the Orford area.

“Police subsequently lost sight of the car, which was later found abandoned near to Moss Gate Park.

“No arrests have been made at this time and enquiries are ongoing.”
