THIS family home in Great Sankey is known as the ‘local Coca Cola advert’ when it comes to Christmas time.
The festive light display being put up, signalling the start of Christmas for many residents on Brook Way.
Mark Whitfield pulls out all the stops for his winter wonderland display.
With this year’s spectacle including a giant blow up snow man and a set of sparkling reindeers.
“I can’t believe how many people have asked when we were putting them up,” he said.
“We invited a couple of the neighbours and the new neighbour’s young child were so excited to switch them on.”
The dad-of-three’s home is renowned in the area for going all out for each holiday.
Only in October Mark transformed the front into a horrifying display for trick-or-treaters to enjoy.
Now the house is attracting all the neighbours for its bright and festive Christmas lights display that Mark exclaims many neighbours wait with anticipation for.
“Kids that come to see absolutely love it, we have been told to maybe ask for a donation and give all the proceeds to charity which we may be considering for next year, but how would we advertise it,” he added.
The Whitfield family resurrected the show-stopping light display this week, labouring for four hours to get everything done.
Some of the festive lights that may catch your eye when passing by include snowflakes, ringing bells, Christmas trees and a ‘Ho Ho Ho’ sign.
Mark said: “I think we are the local Coke advert as once we are visible Christmas is coming.”
