ONE of the town’s most famous buildings could be home to a new business.
The grade II listed building is on the corner of Bridge Street and Rylands Street.
It was first occupied by Martins Bank but in 1969, the company was taken over by Barclays.
It was then used by the Cooperative Bank in the 1990s with two floors above used as office space.
But the building was then left vacant for more than 10 years.
An artisan bakery and delicatessen, Mamars, then moved into the old bank in September 2021.
After two years in the iconic building, Mamars has now moved into The Hive.
The old bank is now vacant and advertised as available to let.
