A NEWTON-LE-WILLOWS business sponsored a group 150 mile run of Hadrian’s Wall, with the runners raising money for mental health in blue light services.

Status Code 14 is a group of runners and friends who take on astonishing distance challenges, with the Hadrian’s Wall run being the first in a series of five challenges.

‘StatusCode14’ is a callout UK National Emergency Services radio request call used when the sender requires an urgent callback, help or assistance.

The group is named after this callout, with their goal being to raise money for first responders and members of emergency services.

The running challenge saw the four-person team traverse the width of the UK, starting at Walssend in Newcastle upon Tyne, and running all the way to Bowness-on-Solway, and then proceeded to run back.

Davanti Tyres, a company based in Newton-le-Willows, sponsored the challenge, claiming it ‘resonates with their team and ethos’.

Scott Dawson from Status Code 14 said: “This really was a challenge. The ups and downs will only prepare us more for future undertakings, including our 10 marathons in 10 days event in Iceland next August.

“Status Code 14 is so grateful for the support given by Davanti Tyres, as, without the brand’s support, the Hadrian’s Wall running event would not have happened.”

Davanti Tyres’ General Manager, Peter Cross, said: “The team spirit, grit and determination to overcome this challenge is something that resonates with our team and ethos at Davanti.

“Well done to all involved, and congratulations on the money raised for mental health and men’s cancer charities too.”
