A HUGE tree has fallen near to the entrance of a park in Warrington.
It has fallen near the entrance of Sankey Valley Park in the Bewsey area.
It was first spotted at around 2.30pm this afternoon, Monday, following the strong wind that has arrived in the town.
The Met Office issued a yellow weather warning for Cheshire this morning, including Warrington.
It warned of ‘very strong and disruptive winds’ and said that gusts may reach up to 50mph.
People are warned to expect flying debris, damage to buildings, closed roads and bridges, cancellations on public transport, power cuts, and disruption to mobile phone services.
A spokesman for the Met Office said: “Flying debris is likely and could lead to injuries or danger to life, and probably some damage to buildings, such as tiles blown from roofs.
“Longer journey times and cancellations are likely, as road, rail, air, and ferry services are affected.
“Some roads and bridges are likely to close, and there is a good chance power cuts may occur, with the potential to affect other services, such as mobile phone coverage.”
