A FIRE in a wood burner grew out of control and had to be extinguished by fire crews.
The blaze started at a property on Hood Lane in Sankey Bridges on Saturday.
Crews attended the incident where a fire in a wood burner installed in the house had to be extinguished.
Firefighters successfully put out the flames at approximately 10.40pm.
A Safe and Well check was carried out at the property which provides property owners with advice and actions on how to make their homes safer and at less risk of fires.
This procedure also provides the home owner with a fire escape plan to follow in case of an emergency in the future.
