DETAILS for Lymm's Remembrance Day parade have been announced by the parish council, with some changes.

A press release from Lymm Parish Council states that the parade will take place on Sunday, November 12.

The parish council says: "Remembrance Sunday is an important part of Lymm’s calendar, and is an opportunity to remember the service and sacrifice of all those that have defended our freedoms and protected our way of life.

"This includes members of the Armed Forces and their families from Britain and the Commonwealth, along with the vital role played by the emergency services as well as those who have lost their lives as a result of conflict or terrorism."

The parish council also explained that the losses from Lymm include 11 students from Lymm Grammar School, who died during World War One.

Continuing, the parish council's statement adds: "The Remembrance Day parade will assemble from a different location from previous years.

"This year, the parade will assemble along Brookfield Road between Eagle Brow and Church Road (opposite Lakeside) from 9am, on the section of Brookfield Road by Lymm Lawn Tennis Club.

"Uniformed groups and other participants, including Warrington Brass Band, will proceed with the march at 9.30am along Church Road arriving at St Mary’s Church in time for a 10am civic service.

"All are welcome to spectate along the parade route and to join the church service.

"The wreath laying and the observation of silence will take place at 11am in the grounds of St Mary’s.

"The parade will reassemble and march back along the same route at around 11.20am, dispersing from Brookfield Road."

Regarding traffic, the statement adds: "Road closures will be in place from 9am, however, Eagle Brow and Rectory Lane will remain open to vehicles throughout the parade and service."
