A WARRINGTON beauty spot has been named a finalist in prestigious awards.

Walton Hall and Gardens has reached the finals of the Red Kits Day Cheshire Awards in the outdoor play category.

Red Kite Days is a family friendly website with around 630k visitors each year, with people sharing reviews, upcoming events, and information about classes and party providers. The awards are all about recognising and celebrating local businesses, groups and places to visit that have a family focus.

Walton Hall and Gardens is up against the likes of Arley Hall and Gardens, Delamere Forest, and Quarry Bank Mill.

The winners will be decided by a public vote where you can vote for one finalist in each category.

Voting is open now and will close at 11.59pm on Sunday, November 5.

The winners from each category will be announced the following day.

The announcement follows the recent news that the estate recently became a finalist in two categories at the Marketing Cheshire Tourism Awards – Visitor Attraction of the Year and Wedding Venue of the Year – in addition to gaining another Traveller’s Choice award from Tripadvisor.

Council leader, Cllr Russ Bowden, said: “I’m thrilled to announce that Walton Hall and Gardens has made yet another finalist list, this time for the popular Red Kite Day Cheshire awards.

“Awards like these are so important as they are completely decided for by the public, from nominations through to the final votes. It means so much that the public have enjoyed their experience at the estate this year so much that they have taken the time to nominate us.

“Voting is now open and I encourage everyone to head online and cast their vote before Sunday.”
