The move from school into further education is daunting and exciting in equal measures. As school leavers look to take the next major step along their chosen career path, it’s important to choose a college which best suits them.

St Helens College recognises just how big a step they are about to take and understands the importance of providing clear and concise course information as well as outlining the high level of student support available, to ensure that students get the best of out of their college experience.

To help young people make an informed decision about their future, the college is hosting a series of Year 10 and 11 open events, with their next event taking place on Wednesday 22nd November, between 5pm and 7pm at their Town Centre Campus, STEM Centre Campus and Green Energy Skills Centre.

The Open Events are the best way to explore what the college has to offer. From their T Levels, BTEC/Vocational and Technical courses to apprenticeships, there are plenty of options to choose from.

  • Meet their expert tutors
  • Chat to the Apprenticeships Team and view their live vacancies
  • Explore the extensive range of T Level courses they offer

T Level Courses

T Levels are a two-year qualification, designed by employers, combining practical and theoretical learning with real-life industry experience.

T Levels are a great option for academically strong students, with a specific career in mind.  Students will spend 80% of the time in college and 20% on a 45-day industry placement to experience having a real career while they continue their studies.

The college currently provides the following T Level courses:

  • Animal Care: Animal care and management
  • Building services/engineering: Electrotechnical engineering, plumbing and heating engineering
  • Design and development for engineering and manufacturing: electrical and electronical engineering
  • Education and childcare: Early years educator
  • Health: supporting the adult nursing team
