A POPULAR sports brand's outlet in Birchwood is set to close its doors for good at the end of this week.

Birchwood Shopping Centre's management has confirmed that New Balance will no longer be a tenant at the centre as of next week.

It was confirmed to the Warrington Guardian that the store will close its shutters for the last time on Sunday, October 22.

Confirming the closure is shopping centre manager John Magee, who told the Warrington Guardian: "We can confirm that New Balance will close their doors here at Birchwood Shopping Centre this week.

"The team has been part of our Birchwood family for many years - we are sad to see them go and wish them the very best.

"Our leasing team is always working hard to attract new and exciting brands to Birchwood Shopping Centre and we hope to announce some of our new openings in the coming months."

New Balance first opened in the shopping centre nearly six years ago, in December 2017, after relocating from Birchwood Park.

The shopping centre has been home to a number of popular brands over the years, and has recently seen the return of high street favourite Peacocks, as well as Bonmarche.

Birchwood Shopping Centre can be found off Dewhurst Road, Birchwood.
