A HOST of spooky stalls are set to descend on Great Sankey this weekend.

Artisan markets, organised by Independent Street, will set up shop in Great Sankey on Saturday, October 21.

Around 70 stalls will be in attendance, with plenty of products for market-goers to peruse on the day.

Lisa Cowley, from Independent Street, said: "We will be packed to the rafters with the very best of local food, drink, art, craft and street food, featuring local crafters and many small independent producers.

"New for autumn is the Cheeky Swine Hog Roast stall, as well as Patisserie Sunrise selling the very best Portuguese Natas around."

There will also be spooky twists at this weekend's markets, Lisa says.

She added: "We are also running a free 'Wand Workshop.'

"Bring your little goblins and budding wizards and come and make your very own wand for Halloween in our children's craft area.

"There will also be face painters, live music by Suzie Whitlow and a Halloween 'Trick or Treat Trail' around the market - just follow the pumpkins for free sweets and goodies."

There is always a host of baked goods, sweet treats, pastries, handmade jewellery, arts, and crafts on offer at the artisan markets.

A number of local independent traders will be in attendance, and the markets are always free to enter.

The markets are also dog-friendly.

Great Sankey's artisan markets will take place on Saturday, October 21, between 10am-4pm at the Woodlands Pub, off Liverpool Road.
