A MAN responsible for the quality of homes at a development in Appleton has won a top national award.

Craig Hancock is the site manager at Orchard Meadows.

He has received a Pride in the Job Quality Award from the National Housebuilding Council (NHBC).

This is Craig’s sixth time winning the award – also adding to his four Seal of Excellence awards and last year’s regional award winner.

Craig, who joined Barratt Homes 36 years ago as a bricklayer, said: “This is my sixth Pride in the Job award and it’s amazing to have the hard work our team has put in on a daily basis celebrated.

“Knowing that I’m contributing to handing over a higher standard of homes to our customers is also really satisfying.

“It’s great being part of a five-star homebuilder, but knowing you’re a contributing factor to that fantastic quality is something else.

“It’s a collaborative effort; every single member of the team at Orchard Meadows has done an amazing job.”

The awards rate site managers against key criteria such as technical expertise, health and safety, consistency, leadership and attention to detail and they celebrate the vital role site managers play in ensuring new homes are delivered on-time, on safe sites, and to the highest quality standards.

Every site manager who is registered with the NHBC is automatically entered into the awards, with just 450 winners being selected from over 11,000 entrants, showing how difficult they are to win.

Rhys Nicholson, managing director at Barratt Homes Manchester, said: “It’s great news for our customers and the business that Craig has won a prestigious Pride in the Job Quality Award.

“The awards showcase what it takes to be a top site manager and demonstrates our long-term commitment to looking after our customers and building high-quality homes.

“We are very proud to have won more of these awards than any other housebuilder for 19 years in a row now.”
