The adverts feature Alana and five other children, and aims to highlight the lack of creative play available for children now, with the rising use of electronics by young children.

Alana, an 11-year-old pupil at St Gregory's Catholic High School, is one of six young stars of the new adverts, alongside American actress Jane Lynch - known for her role in the Glee TV series.

The St Gregory's pupil plays the role of Ara, a space-themed superhero who uses Lego to create zero-gravity environments.

Despite only being 11, Alana has also previously appeared in other TV adverts for Matalan, Pukka Pies, and UEFA, as well as modelling for Under Armour and Miss Kick.

Speaking about the new advertising campaign, Lego's website reads: "What, didn’t you know you’ve got a superpower? You do! It’s the superpower of play.

"It lets you think outside the box, connect with others, problem-solve like a boss, and fill the world with fun."

Lego was created in Denmark 1932, and now has 42 offices around the world - though the company remains in its home country, with its headquarters being found in Billund.
