WARRINGTON Running Festival came to town today.

Although it is the third time that Warrington has hosted the event, this year it made history as it was the world’s first free-to-enter running festival.

An incredible 6,000 runners took to the streets this morning, Sunday, to compete in either a half marathon or 10k and hundreds of spectators lined the streets to support them.

More than 20,0000 applied for the ballot this year and the event was made possible by the Runthrough Foundation which aims to improve the physical and mental health in communities across the nation.

Our photographer Dave Gillespie was there to capture Warrington Running Festival 2023 in all its glory.
