A PUB in Stretton has been hit with an enforcement order from Warrington Borough Council.

As per the council's online planning portal, the Ring O' Bells has been given an order regarding the erection of a wooden structure at the rear of the pub.

The watering hole, off Northwich Road, is in Lower Stretton, and an enforcement order has been issued by planning bosses at the town hall.

According to the council, the enforcement order has been issued for the following reason:

  • That without planning permission, there has been an erection of an extension to the rear of the building constructed of timber

In order to comply with the council's demands, the landowner must:

  • Remove from the land the rear extension constructed of timber

The landowner has until Friday, October 20 to comply with the council's enforcement order.

According to Gov.uk: "A planning enforcement order enables an authority to take action in relation to an apparent breach of planning control notwithstanding that the time limits may have expired."

It continues: "The application must be made to a magistrates’ court and a copy must be served on the owner and occupier of the land, and on anyone else with an interest in the land which, in the local planning authority’s opinion, would be materially affected by the taking of enforcement action in respect of the breach.

"The applicant, any person who has been served with the application, and any other person the court thinks has an interest in the land that would be materially affected by the enforcement action, have a right to appear before, and be heard by, the court hearing the application."
