ONE of the most historic events in the calendar in Warrington returned on Sunday.
Lymm Rushbearing was re-born in the early 1970s (having probably died out in the early years of the century, possibly during the First World War) and for the last several years has been held on the second Sunday in August, although it has over the years been held on other days.
It returned yesterday, Sunday, August 13 with the procession leaving the lower dam at 4pm.
The procession included groups of morris dancers and the current Lymm May Queen.
The day concluded with a short service inside St Mary's Church.
