A COMMUNITY library that has undergone a bold refurbishment will soon reopen its doors.

Culcheth Library has been in the midst of a revamp for some months, with plans originally being submitted to the council regarding a refurbishment back in February.

Initially, it was proposed that the library would be closed for four months while the refurbishment works took place.

As per the original plans, the library was due to close at the beginning of March for 15 weeks while work was completed.

It was announced at the time that the library would not be issuing any fines for overdue items during the facility's closure.

Now, LiveWire has announced the date of the library's long-awaited reopening.

Culcheth Library will throw its doors open once more on Saturday, August 19.

Making the announcement on social media, LiveWire said: "Welcome back to Culcheth Library.

"On Saturday, August 19, Culcheth Library is reopening and you are all invited.

"Come and join us to take a look at the newly refurbished library, and join in with all of these fun activities.

"We hope to see you there."

The opening will take place between 10am and 1pm, and will be attended by Warrington Wolves star Joe Philbin.

There will be tours of the new library on the day, with refreshments provided too, as well as a host of activities.
