A MASTER chef finalist visited upper Bridgewater High School to serve up a tasty unveiling of their new food tech room.

The new facility was official opened by the school’s former student and now professional chef Liam Rogers on Monday.

Liam, who successfully got to the final of MasterChef: The Professionals, has excelled in the food industry since graduating from Bridgewater and has worked in multiple Michelin star restaurants, including the famous Gleneagles Hotel in Scotland.

To commemorate the reveal of the new food room in the upper site, Liam was joined by several year nine food tech students who watched in admiration as he served up some fresh delicious food.

He sliced fresh scallops which he delicately built into an intricate rose with courgette. This was topped with beautiful seasonal flowers and topped with real caviar and the dish was finished with a velouté sauce.

Liam explained how ‘we do not always need heat and fire to create wonderful dishes’.

A talk then followed where Liam went into detail about working within the food industry.

Most students and teachers explained how they had never tasted scallops and caviar before but were ‘pleasantly surprised’ at how much they enjoyed them.

“We are sure you will inspire the next generation of food students to cook fantastic dishes in our wonderful new food room.”
