A DISUSED pub building in Whitley has been put on the market for just under £600,000.

The Chetwode Arms on Street Lane in Lower Whitley has been closed since the end of July last year.

Its landlords moved on from the pub after 17 years, to be involved with the Ring O Bells in Stretton.

Now, however, the site - which dates back to 1800 - has been put up for sale for £595,000.

The Chetwode Arms is two miles north of Stretton, and is six miles from the centre of Warrington - it also sits four miles out of Northwich.

Included in the asking price is the land that the Chetwode Arms sits on - which comprises 2.61 acres.

As per Rightmove, the pub comes with accommodation, which includes three bedrooms, an office, a bathroom, as well as a separate kitchen and lavatory.

The property site also explains that 'there is the potential to partition the area at [the] first floor to create a large flat with separate bedsit.'

According to records, the Chetwode Arms dates back to 1800 and is a Grade II listed building.

There are 20 associated parking spaces, as well as additional space for up to 40 more vehicles.

A property description explains that the pub can accommodate in the region of 80 diners.

There is a large pub garden, as well as an associated bowling green on-site, too, with a viewing area.

It is stated that the property is available on a freehold to offers in excess of £595,000, but there are developments and refurbishments required for the early-19th century building.
