Every week, the Warrington Guardian publishes death notices and funeral announcements from the families of loved ones who have passed away.

As well as appearing in print, our death notice pages will remain online as a lasting tribute to the memory of those we have lost.

FEARNLEY Allan It is with a sad heart that we have to announce the sudden death of Allan (Liz) on 15th May 2023

Family and close friends are heart broken. There was no funeral just Pure Cremation to his wishes. Thank you to Houghtons Funerals, Great Sankey.


CONNOR Monica Monica Connor (née Brierley) on 13 June 2023 aged 90.

Funeral on 29 June at 12.45pm at St Wilfrid's Church, Grappenhall. Family flowers only please. Funeral director: P J Lundy (01925 861881). Donations 'In Memory of Monica Connor' to "The Honeypot Children's Charity"

Frank James JOHNSON

JOHNSON Frank James Son of Frank & Charlotte Johnson.

Formerly of Bruce Avenue, Orford but latterly Milnthorpe, Cumbria, passed away unexpectedly but peacefully on Thursday 18th May, 2023. Beloved husband of Anne, much loved brother to Sandra, Marilyn, Wendy and the late Stanley. Dear brother-in-law to Ade, John and Jill, treasured uncle to Lauren, Lewis, Emily and Thomas. His funeral service was held at Beetham Hall Crematorium on Thursday, 15th June, 2023.


RAMSDALE Brian, CBE Born Warrington 10th September 1931

 Attended Boteler Grammar School 1942-49; graduated from University of Birmingham 1952. After starting in atomic energy research, transferred to government military aviation work from 1955. Retired as Director of Military Aviation Projects, Ministry of Defence 1991. Awarded CBE 1992. Lifelong Wire supporter. Died Galway, Ireland, 24th May 2023. Survived and much missed by son Alan, brother Rob and all the family.

Harold David BENNETTON

BENNETTON Harold David After a long illness, passed away peacefully at Cromwell Court Care Home, on Saturday 17th June aged 90 years. Beloved husband of Evelyn and much loved by family and friends. A service in celebration of Harold's life, 2.30 pm, at All Saint's Church Daresbury, Wednesday 5th July 2023. Family flowers only please, donations welcomed in Harold's memory, to Parkinson's UK.

Kenneth “Ken” SMITH

SMITH Kenneth "Ken" Passed away peacefully at, Whiston Hospital on Sunday 18th June 2023 aged 83 years

Devoted husband to Brenda, loving dad to Helena and David, father-in-law to Marc and Bethan, beloved grandad to Lily, loving brother to Barbara and a much loved uncle to his niece and nephews. He will be sadly missed by all his family and friends. A celebration of his life will take place on Thursday 6th July 2023 at 3.30pm at Greenacres Rainford. Family flowers only please.

ONIONS Ken Sadly passed away on the 9th June 2023 at St Rocco's Hospice, aged 82.

Ken will be deeply missed by all his loving family and friends. Funeral service to take place on Tuesday 4th July 2023 at Walton Lea Crematorium at 12:40 pm, Family flowers only please and donations if desired to St Rocco's Hospice & Clatterbridge Cancer Centre Liverpool. The Family has requested no black attire.

CARTER June Passed away peacefully in Warrington Hospital on the 10th June 2023.

Beloved wife of the late Ernest Carter and Mum to Andrew and Gary who passed away in December 2019. June leaves 5 Grandchildren and 3 Great Grandchildren. A service will be held at Warrington Crematorium on the 11th July at 14:40. Followed by a celebration of June's life at The Parr Arms, Grappenhall. Arrangements by Houghtons, Stockton Heath.
