HAIRDRESSERS at a popular Stockton Heath salon are celebrating this weekend after making the finals of a national competition for female entrepreneurs.

Leanne Bartlett is the proud owner of Brhaive on London Road and she has been named as a finalist at The Best Businesswomen Awards 2023, best customer service category.

The judging panel was impressed by the creativity, tenacity and excellent business acumen demonstrated in the selected finalists.

The Best Businesswomen Awards are designed to recognise the achievement of female entrepreneurs from a wide range of industries, all of which are excelling in their chosen field.

The business climate has continued to test the resilience of entrepreneurs across the UK and the determined women, who have been shortlisted across the different categories, have continued to drive their businesses forward.

Leanne said: “We are super proud to of been selected in this category as great customer service to us is something we strive for.

“Our salon is centred around helping people feel good both inside and out and we go above and beyond to care for our customers while they are with us.

“Taking into consideration that we are a well-being salon and promote self-care, it really means a lot to us that we have been recognised for looking after our customers.”

She added: “I’m looking forward to being able to take my staff to London for this awards night, where we can celebrate everyone’s hard work and hopefully come back with a win.

“My team work super hard every day to ensure all of our customers are given the same standard of service, so for them to feel recognised and appreciated means a lot to me too.”

Leanne got the keys to Brhaive (pronounced Brhaive) in April 2020 – right in the middle of the Covid-19 pandemic – in the premises where she trained as an apprentice hairdresser.

She finally opened the doors in July 2020 and now has plans to open more Brhaive salons in the future.

Debbie Gilbert, organiser of The Best Businesswomen Awards, said: “This is the 9th year of these prestigious awards and despite extremely difficult trading conditions businesses have faced over the past few years, these businesswomen have powered forward.

“Our judging panel, all business experts, were impressed by the quality of the entrants.

“All our finalists are all shining examples of being successful entrepreneurs who have proved their success to our judges.”

The Gala Final will be held at the Hilton Wembley on September 22, where the gold winners of each category will be announced.
