THE owner of a new £8.2million care home being developed in Warrington says more than 100 jobs will available when it opens.

Exemplar Health Care, which provides specialist nursing care for adults with complex needs, is now recruiting for its new Woolston site ahead of its opening in autumn.

As construction of Woolston House Care Home nears completion, the care home is looking for dedicated and compassionate staff to join its new team.

Planning permission was granted by Warrington Borough Council in October relating to the former Heathercroft Care Home.

It was confirmed by the Warrington Guardian in February that the Longbarn Lane home had been bought by a new care provider named Exemplar Healthcare.

Heathercroft closed in the summer of 2021, with ‘current challenges facing the sector’ being named as the main reason.

New owner Exemplar Healthcare previously said it would be renaming the 40-bed home Woolston Grange, but it will now be known as Woolston House.

It is to specialise in supporting people living with dementia, acquired brain injury, complex mental health conditions and physical disabilities.

The building will feature spacious communal areas, as well as a sensory and therapy room and landscaped gardens for residents and visitors to enjoy.

Recruitment is now underway for nurses, unit managers, occupational therapists, health care assistants, and a range of other support roles.

Successful candidates will start work this summer, completing a bespoke induction and training programme ahead of the home’s first resident arriving in the autumn.

Exemplar Health Care will be hosting a selection day where prospective candidates will undertake the first interview stage in the selection process.

This will be hosted at the Longbarn Lane care home on Monday, July 3, and those wishing to attend should email pod1@exemplarhc.com

Lindsay Abraham, commissioning manager at Woolston House, said: “As we enter the final stages of interior designing, we are ready to welcome individuals to join our team.

“Individuals who are passionate about making a positive impact to the lives of others, are committed to providing outstanding care and who share our values of integrity, responsiveness, teamwork, success and fun.

“By joining our team, candidates will have the opportunity to contribute to a supportive and nurturing environment that promotes the holistic wellbeing of the people we will support.

“New joiners will be supported through a bespoke induction and training programme ahead of the home officially opening.

“All colleagues will be encouraged to continue develop their careers through our clear career pathway – with many of Exemplar Health Care’s unit and home managers having started in more junior roles with the organisation.

“This is an exciting opportunity to join a brand-new team, work in a state-of-the-art clinical environment and to make a profound impact to the lives of people in our local community.”
