VILLAGERS have been warned by police to keep their doors and windows locked overnight.
It comes after residents in Burtonwood reported to Cheshire Police a suspicious man in the area.
He was spotted in the vicinity of Tan House Lane, with residents urged to follow the 9pm routine of ensuring all valuables are safely locked away.
The force’s Burtonwood and Winwick Police team said: “We have been out in the Tan House Lane area this afternoon after recent reports of a suspicious male at one of the addresses.
“We know we go on about the 9pm routine and checking doors are locked, but please start to follow it as it could save you a lot of money and hassle.
“Check doors and windows are locked at night and when out of the house, and check cars sheds and outbuildings are locked.”
