MORE than 400 vehicles will be on show at the ever popular Lymm Transport Day.

Preparations well under way for the charitable event on June 25 first held in 2013.

“It’s back and it’s big”, said volunteer committee member Lee Kendall. “We had a couple of years out due to Covid, and a scaled-down ‘comeback’ event in 2022, but this year we’re firing on all cylinders again.

"This will be the full-fat version of Lymm Historic Transport Day that everyone loves and comes from miles around to visit.”

This year Transport Day will be a truly village-wide affair, with the main venue located on the May Queen Field, following a vehicle parade through the village in the morning.

There will also be a historic canal boat sail-past, a model railway exhibition in the village hall, a lego display in Maple Lodge, traction engines at Henry St and an exhibition in Lymm Heritage Centre. Look out for the Star Wars entertainers too.

“There’s nothing better than a great British summer village fete. There’s no better village than Lymm. And everyone loves admiring classic vehicles. We’ve got all three in one event”, said Lee.

“We’re going to have some 400 plus vehicles in the event this year. The kids will be kept well entertained by all the attractions we’ve got, whilst the adults can enjoy a drink and some great food."

The event runs between 10am and 5pm.

There will be plenty of entertainment on offer including historic motorcycles, historic canal boats, vintage bicycles, vintage emergency vehicles, vintage fire engines and police cars, traction engines and other very special vehicles, a stunt bike show, remote control car racing, a full sized aeroplane cockpit, climbing wall, a petting farm. giant sandpits, live music, Ecto1 from Ghostbuster and Kitt from Nightrider, climbing wall, interactive Lego exhibition, quality food and beer / drink outlets, live music / band, various artisan vendors, model railways (in Lymm Village Hall) and Star Wars entertainers.
