A MAN was spotted in Birchwood using a trolley as a replacement for a chair, as his bus stop has been removed.

The man was seen waiting for a bus, and had turned a trolley upside-down, as his usual bus shelter had been removed.

This meant that there was no seat for him to use while he waited for the bus, so he took matters into his own hands.

Warrington Borough Council is in the process of replacing bus shelters across the town.

This is because the contract for bus shelters had expired, and a new one has been signed with Alight Media - which means that the council has been taking out bus shelters around Warrington.

The bus stops are in the process of having new, digital bus shelters installed, but until then there will be some bus stops without an associated shelter.

Could this mean more residents will take matters into their own hands a fashion their own chairs for use at bus stops?

Who knows, but this Birchwood resident should certainly be applauded for his ingenuity.
