WARRINGTON-BORN band ‘Crawlers’ have released a new single, with the band claiming this is the start of a “new musical chapter”.

‘That Time Of Year Always’ was released on Monday with the song showing a clear change of genre for the band, demonstrating a slower more considered approach to the alt-Rock band’s usual sound.

The band are made up of Holly Minto, Liv Kettle, Harry Breen, and Amy Woodall, with both Liv and Amy being Warrington born and bred, meeting at St Gregory’s Catholic School.

Crawlers also played many of their early gigs in Warrington, often at FC2, before finding success gigging across Liverpool.

Holly Minto, lead singer of the band, expanded on the inspirations behind ‘That Time Of Year Always’.

“That Time Of Year Always encompasses the feeling of envying your younger self before the trauma hits in your early 20’s. It’s about missing the ignorance that you had in your childhood; that reflection process which usually happens for me during the winter seasons.

"Being older, you realise that despite thinking these thoughts stem from seasonal depression, it’s normal to feel that longing for your youth all year round, and to constantly have your younger self in mind when reminiscing about what once was”.

This follows the release of their recent EP ‘Loud Without Noise’ last November, where their lead song ‘Come Over (Again)’ racked up over 34 million Spotify plays and was named Radio 1’s song of the week.

This EP led to a series of Live ‘intimate’ shows, culminating in a penultimate show of the tour that saw the band return to their routes – and play the FC2 in Warrington.
