ONE of Warrington Borough Council's bosses helped a company celebrate after its third office space was opened in Birchwood.

Steven Broomhead is the chief executive of the council, and was in attendance at Birchwood Park to help mark the official opening of the new office space.

The company in question, Haier, manufactures bespoke kitchen appliances, and the company's clients include well-known household (pardon the pun) names, such as Hoover.

Haier's European branch now operates from three units at Birchwood Park - the region's largest out-of-town business park.

Andy Lane, service director at Haier Europe, said: "Our new unit is a training activation centre, where skilled engineers will be trained in the company's latest products and technology.

"This training will enable them to provide a top-class service when our customers call us with any queries."

Andy added: "This is Haier's third unit in Birchwood Park and we are delighted with our latest expansion.

"We look forward to training our engineers in this new unit and we are delighted to be centering these units in Birchwood Park as we continue to grow our strong relationship."

Martin O’Rourke, commercial director at Birchwood Park, told the Warrington Guardian: “For years, Birchwood Park has had an exceptional relationship with Haier UK and we are delighted to once again support the business with its continued growth, this time opening a training academy right here at the park.

“We’re looking forward to seeing the quality of training Haier provides to its engineering staff in its new facilities, and we’ll always be on hand to accommodate any future expansions and updates."

Birchwood Park is entering its 25th year of being one of the region's top business destinations, and has recently been lauded by MPs for its championing of the town's nuclear engineering sector.
