WHEN you’ve lost a loved one, birthdays, Christmas and other special events can be a difficult time.

Today is Mother's Day – the day we thank all the important female figures in our lives, whether it’s mums, grannies, aunties or family friends.

But we know there are many of our readers whose mums have sadly passed away, so we gave you the chance to remember them by sharing your own special messages.

Here is a selection of your messages.

If your mum is no longer with us and you'd like to share a photo and a few words, please use the link at the bottom of the page.

Please include a clear photograph - no filtered pictures or montages – their full names, where in Warrington they lived and your special message.

We will not be able to use any submissions that have missing information.

Share a special message for your mumPatricia is my nanna however for a large part of my life was very much like a mum to me. Whilst my mum battled with mental health issues, my nanna filled the spot and has made me into a strong independent woman, just like she was. This is my first Mother's day without her, so it's tough. I'll be forever grateful of the love and support she gave me through life. My nan, my mum, my soulmate. Forever missed.

Share a special message for your mumEveryone says their mum is the best mum, but mine really was. She would always put other people first before herself and would give her last to someone so they didn't go without. She was kind, loving and was always the best person to go to for advice or just a shoulder to cry on. She was feisty and fearless and was always there to protect the people she cared for and loved. She is remembered so deeply for her generosity and loving nature and missed so much, especially by her grandchildren who only have to point at a picture of her and say 'nannie Jackie' despite never meeting her properly. Her memory lives on every day and she will forever be in our hearts. We love and miss you everyday mum, but know you're only a thought away.

Share a special message for your mumThis is our mum Gina Brace She passed away on the Feb 7, 2023, after a short battle with bowel cancer. She was important to us, she was all we had. She was mine and my little brother's only family we have over in the UK as the rest of the family are in the Philippines. She was our mother and our father all in one. We are so lucky to have had her as our mother. She fought so hard but always loved harder. She was so selfless, kind hearted and put everyone else’s feelings before her own. We miss her dearly. In this life and the next mumma we’ll always choose you. I love you. From Mahal Kita
