STOCKTON Heath is the third most-educated area in Warrington, according to the latest data.

Figures were made available by the Office for National Statistics as part of the body's round-up of 2021 census data.

The data was taken during the 2021 census, and has been broken down into a number of different categories which help to identify the makeup of different areas.

According to the ONS, Stockton Heath has the third highest level of residents with Level 4 qualifications or above, with 46.2 per cent of residents aged 16 or above possessing these qualifications.

The national average for Level 4 qualifications in England and Wales is 34 per cent, putting Stockton Heath far above that.

Stockton Heath was pipped to the post by Appleton and Lymm regarding education, with Appleton boasting a rate of 48 per cent of over-16s with Level 4 qualifications or higher, and Lymm with 49 per cent.

Just 10.4 per cent of Stockton Heath's over-16 population possess no recognisable qualifications, which is the second-lowest, sitting just behind Lymm, at 10.2 per cent.

According to the ONS, as of 2021 there were 6,700 people living in Stockton Heath, spread across 3,000 households.

The ONS also recorded deprivation among households, across four categories: housing, employment status, education, and health.

According to those criteria, 36.7 per cent of Stockton Heath's households are considered 'deprived' in one or more dimensions - however, there are no households defined as 'deprived' in all four areas.

Five per cent of Stockton Heath's population are in possession of a second home - either in the UK or abroad.

In keeping with changing times, of the employed population in Stockton Heath, 44.9 per cent told the ONS that they mainly 'work from home.'

More than one-in-10 Stockton Heath households are entirely reliant on Warrington's public transport networks, with 11.1 per cent of homes stating that they have no vehicles associated with their property.

Regarding the rate of employment in the area, of 'working age residents' (those over 16) there is an employment rate of 61.4 per cent.

1.9 per cent of the working-age population is unemployed, while the remaining 36.6 per cent are 'economically inactive' - this could mean retirement, or it could mean that they are unable to work, for one reason or another.

All data has been taken from the Office for National Statistics' breakdown of the 2021 census.
