JAM-packed with timeless ABBA hits, amazing outfits, and plenty of feel-good energy, Mamma Mia! has arrived just down the road from Warrington.
The smash hit musical is told through the songs of Swedish supergroup ABBA and is currently on at Manchester Opera House.
Set on a fictitious Greek island, Sophie’s quest to discover the father she’s never known brings her mother face to face with three men from her distant romantic past on the eve of her wedding.
You’ll certainly leave with a spring in your step after watching the feel-good show. Whether that be from listening to your favourite ABBA hits, the hilarious – but at times emotional - performance put on by the talented cast or from sneaking in a boogie at the end to the encore where Donna’s and the Dynamos make a return to the stage.
Sara Poyzer and Jess Michelmore play mother and daughter duo Donna and Sophie Sheridan and their vocals are just as brilliant as the at times touching performance they put on.
Donna’s best friends Rosie and Tanya are played by Nicky Swift and Sarah Earnshaw and besides the ABBA anthems – including Dancing Queen, Voluez-Vous and Mamma Mia -coupled with electric performances by the whole cast, they are a highlight of the show, providing endless laughter.
It is the perfect show and is justifiably deserving of a standing ovation and is well worth the money, money, money.
So if you feel like embracing your inner dancing queen, then Mammia Mia! is on at Manchester Opera House until February 11.
