EVERY series of Big Brother throws up a housemate you love to hate.

From last year's WAG-wannabe Charlie with her venomous verbal diarrhoea to Jade Goody - a 'lady' who displayed a level of ignorance beyond comprehension (no Jade, Saddam Hussein was not a boxer) there is always one housemate we love to moan about given the opportunity.

I genuinely disliked creepy Craig in Series 6, mainly due to his disturbing advances on Geordie numskull Anthony. Personally I would have taken a restraining order out against the sinister hairdresser the moment I left the BB house, but Anthony seemed determined to pretend he didn't mind Craig's brazen pursuit - if only to make sure he didn't suffer a public backlash. However, I have to admit the whole thing did make me laugh, especially when Craig started blubbering every five minutes over his unrequited love.

Three days in and the current series has already delivered the tiresome caricature that is Dennis, a walking stereotype who appears to have little discernable personality.

Then there is bubblehead Stephanie, a blonde 'stunner' with real Page 3 potential, who failed to realise that sleeping in a separate bed and slating Mario behind his back was hardly the best way to go about convincing her fellow housemates that they were a genuine couple. A whinging, whining, whimperer with acting abilites destined for Hollyoaks, she grates incessantly on the nerves and will hopefully be first out the door come Friday if (or should I say when) she fails her task.

But this year the most detestable housemate is without a doubt the scowling sour-puss Alexandra. And I don't love to hate her, I just hate her. Full stop.

When the 23-year-old Croydon accounts executive appeared before the BB crowd she was immediately booed, and shamefully I must admit I initially felt sorry for her. Not any more.

Moping around while constantly looking for an argument, this foul-mouthed banshee hasn't got a chip on her shoulder as much as a block.

I can't for the life of me understand why anybody would go on BB unless they were up for a laugh. Throwing yourself into the series of tasks and surreal situations the house provides is essential. Everybody on BB has to dress up in silly clothes and everybody has to be prepared to take a joke at their own expense, because if you don't take the rough with the smooth and try to put on a happy face the public will vote you out - simple as that.

When asked to don a bunny outfit Alexandra responded with a tirade of coarse expletives - showing a complete lack of acumen. If you don't want to play the game, don't go on the show.

Overreacting to the secret couple task and wading into an argument between Sylvia and Michael that wasn't anything to do with her, she then savagely slated Michael despite his attempts to apologise. In doing so she has revealed her ugly personality to viewers after just one weekend - not a good move.

I give it three weeks at best before she's back in the gutter.
