DAY two in the Big Brother house and I have a revelation. I don't hate any of the housemates.

In fact, I'd go as far as to say, I quite like most of them.

Okay, so Jennifer hasn't figured yet and - thankfully - Rebecca has turned the pitch down a notch or 200 since Friday otherwise I think she would have emptied Battersea Dogs' Home by now.

We don't really know yet whether Dishy Dale is actually Dull Dale or whether Rachel is genuinely so sickly sweet you could make treacle out of her.

Rex has not had chance to flex (his ego) yet and even Mohamed's afro has faded into the background.

But first impressions are that this is the best bunch of housemates in years and that this series could be a cracker.

Most telling is that we have more housemates than ever and I can already remember all their names bar the two pretty brunettes who could be sisters. (Is one Cheryl Cole?) On day two I had my first grab-the-cushion moment. The pool proposal involving Warrington's own Mario and his 'bride-to-be' was so toe-curling I couldn't watch.

I am not sure how this is going to work out for Stephanie. She did so much protesting about the wedding affair and then went ahead and signed on the dotted line for Sunday's marriage pretty sharpish - in it, to win it I would say.

Another fine moment from today was when Lisa (Mario's real girlfriend) pointed out that Steph was shaking.

Too right. She is probably quaking in her boots that eventually Lisa's cool, calm exterior is going to crack and she is going to rip off the Liverpool lass' head.

As ever at this early stage, there are many questions still to be answered about the housemates.

Will they run out of patience guiding blind Michael round the house all the time?

When will smiley Rachel crack and fall into the depths of depression?

How long before Luke gives in to temptation and has, god forbid, a beer?

And am I sad to be staying in on a Friday and a Saturday night to watch the ninth series of Big Brother?

The answer to the last question is a resounding yes. But if my personal favourite Kathreya keeps making me smile or wears those gold platforms again, then I really don't care.
