A DISCOUNT travel company has confirmed that it has dropped Warrington as a 'key destination.'

FlixBus has confirmed to the Warrington Guardian that it has suspended its services from the town - though hopes to return in future.

The company offers thousands of services across Europe, North America, and Brazil - it currently operates in 35 European countries.

FlixBus used to also operate in Warrington, however, the company has now confirmed that its services in the town have been suspended.

The closest destination to Warrington that the travel company now operates in is Manchester.

Prices for the coach services are relatively low, with a trip from Manchester to Preston typically costing around £3.99, and a journey from London to Paris costing just over £30.

More attractive routes for Warrington passengers will have been to London, with prices for a trip from Manchester down to the capital starting from just £12.99.

Following a report to the Warrington Guardian that passengers could no longer book the FlixBus services from the town, the company confirmed that it had suspended all services to and from Warrington.

In a statement, a FlixBus spokesperson said: "FlixBus services to Warrington have been temporarily paused but we intend to reinstate Warrington as a key destination on our UK network as soon as possible."

FlixBus did not give a timetable for the services to return to Warrington.
